ABOUT

Genie

Giorgina Pini is a dancer, choreographer and musical theatre artist with a background in theatre and film. Born and raised in North London, Giorgina began her dance training at the age of three at the local ballet school and finished all the grades in RAD Ballet, ISTD modern and Tap. She began performing on stage at age seven with the Risley Theatre Company and joined Centre Stage School of Performing Arts shortly after. Alongside performing shows in theatres such as The Millfield Theatre, The Wylliots Theatre and The Arts Depot, Giorgina has also worked in TV, filming for the Paralympic Opening Ceremony and travelling to Barcelona to play a part in an Engie commercial.

At age fifteen, Giorgina decided to pursue her passion in contemporary dance and enrolled in the Centre For Advanced Training programme at The Place, working with artists such as Matthew Rushing from Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre, James Pett and Theo Clinkard. Three years later, she was accepted to continue her training on the BA(Hons) degree programme at the London Contemporary Dance School.

During her years of training, she was able to develop her artistry, working with choreographers such as Richard Alston, Yun Chen and Dane Hurst, along with developing her own interest in choreography. ‘Get the Rite Right’, a comedic duet choreographed and performed by Giorgina Pini and Lauren Jenkins was selected to be performed at both The British Library and The Place Theatre. Throughout her contemporary education, she has continued her commercial, heels, tap and musical theatre training. Giorgina also qualified as a Level One Bokwa teacher and has spent three years teaching children on the CAT programme at The Place.
